How to Plant
Sow seeds directly into fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny location when soil temperatures reach at least 15–18°C (59–64°F). Plant seeds 2–3 cm deep and 25–30 cm apart in rows spaced 60–75 cm apart. Water consistently to maintain even soil moisture, especially during germination and silk emergence. Apply a balanced fertilizer at planting and side-dress with nitrogen when plants reach 30–40 cm tall. Harvest when husks are tight, silks have turned brown, and kernels are plump, milky, and sweet to taste – typically 65–75 days after planting. For best flavor, harvest in the early morning and consume as fresh as possible. Store unused seeds in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
